Taylor Swift gave an emotional speech while accepting the award for Video of the Year at the MTV VMAs on September 27.

During her remarks, she shouted out a surprising person.

Swift is nominated for a total of nine awards tonight.

Taylor Swift just accepted the award for Video of the Year for “The Fate of Ophelia”at the VMAs 2026—making her the most awarded artist in the show’s history—and her speech basically doubled as a tribute to a very special soul: Dolly Parton. Swift ascended the stage in her dazzling Tamara Ralph fall/winter 2026 couture gown to give her remarks and express gratitude for the trailblazer who came before her.

Swift started by expressing love to her fans: “Thank you so much for giving this award to this video. I’m so proud of it. To the fans, thank you for voting on it,” she said before moving on to the “most important” part.

“I want to thank and dedicate this award to one person without whom this wouldn’t be happening, and that person is the ultimate showgirl Dolly Parton,” she continued. “Every single song that she wrote, her storytelling was so vivid and so rich. Listening to her songs is like watching the best music video you have ever seen in your life every single time you hear what she has written. She handled this thing with such grace and joy and love and gratitude for the fact that she got to do this. Everything that happened in her life or her career she channeled back into love and gratitude and appreciation for her fans.”

Swift concluded her speech with: “I am lucky I got to be one of them, and I will always be one of them. I love you all so very much. We were all very lucky to share this planet with Dolly Parton for a time. Thank you for this amazing moment. I love you all.”

It’s a big night for the music mogul, who is nominated for a total of nine awards. In addition to Video of the Year, she received nods for Artist of the Year, Best Pop, Best Direction, Best Art Direction, Best Cinematography, Best Editing, Best Choreography, and Best Visual Effects. She is also the first-ever recipient of the MTV Artist Director award, which, per MTV, recognizes artists “whose directorial work has advanced the art of music video and storytelling.”

Swift is unsurprisingly dressed like a winner: She accented her gown, which featured a black halter bodice with a sheer lace-up back and silver glitter-coated skirt, with sparkly strappy silver heels and layers of diamonds. She styled her new short haircut down in a blowout, while glamming up with a light dusting of rosy pink blush and a coral-hued lip.

Swift seemed to feel all the love tonight, surrounded by her fans, industry peers, and her “Patient Zero” music video co-star Dakota Johnson. Swift’s hubby Travis Kelce, however, was sadly absent from the show, as the NFL star had a Chiefs game against the Miami Dolphins in Florida today. The athlete was there in spirit, though, as Swift wore her wedding ring stack loud and proud.

This comes just a week after Swift went viral for her adorable celebration to Kelce scoring his first touchdown of the season during the Chiefs vs. Indianapolis Colts game on September 20. She screamed “That’s my husband” while pointing to her ring stack.

Days later, Kelce reacted to the moment on his and his brother Jason Kelce’s joint podcast, “New Heights.” “Just doing my deed as a husband,” Travis said during the September 23 episode. “Listen, man, proud wife, baby. Gotta make my girl proud.” The same day, Swift announced The Life of a Showgirl: The Encore, the deluxe version of her 2025 album. Among the new tracks was a song called “Cleveland!” which likely refers to Kelce’s hometown of Cleveland Heights, Ohio.

Acer CEO Jason Chen is skeptical about the memory shortage lasting until the end of the decade.

Chinese production has been increasing, and Chen claims companies are trying to protect their margins with higher prices.

Micron's stock appears cheap, but only if expectations of future growth remain high.

10 stocks we like better than Micron Technology ›

Shares of Micron Technology (NASDAQ:MU) have surged 570% over the past year, as insatiable demand for memory and storage products has translated into terrific revenue and profit growth for the tech company. It's been able to raise prices due to a shortage of the products it sells.

Micron's stock appears cheap to investors, but that also depends heavily on the outlook for the ongoing shortage. And according to Acer's CEO, Micron may not be able to count on price hikes for too much longer.

Missed AI’s "Act 1"? Act 2 Could Be 15x Bigger. Most investors think they missed the AI boat because they didn't buy Nvidia in 2005. But according to our analysts, we’re only at the end of "Act 1"—the R&D phase. "Act 2" is the global rollout. Continue »

Why the shortage may not last until 2030

Acer CEO Jason Chen recently called into question the expectation that the ongoing shortage in memory products will continue until the end of the decade, and questioned whether price increases will be justifiable. Chen says that while some prices have been going up, others have been coming down. And that with China's production capacity increasing, fears of a shortage lasting until 2030 are overblown, and that companies are simply trying to protect their margins.

For Micron investors, it's a concerning warning because, if it's true, it could undermine the very reason for investing in the company. If the shortage doesn't end up lasting as long as feared and Micron isn't able to continually raise prices -- or worse, prices come down -- then the tech stock could quickly fall into a tailspin. Micron's business has historically been cyclical, and volatility has followed it. Many investors who are bullish on the stock believe that this time is different and that demand for all things related to artificial intelligence is so tremendous that the shortage won't end anytime soon.

Micron is a risky stock, despite its seemingly low earnings multiple

Given its massive earnings growth, Micron's stock doesn't appear expensive, as analysts believe there's much more growth ahead. The tech stock is trading at a forward price-to-earnings (P/E) multiple of just seven. That's based on projections of its future profits, based on analyst expectations.

However, if analysts come to the realization that the memory shortage won't last as long as expected, then that can result in lower earnings growth expectations, and a suddenly dirt cheap forward P/E multiple may begin to look a whole lot more expensive.

The danger with relying on expectations, whether they're from analysts or industry experts, is that they can and will change. With Micron's stock, expectations play a large role in its share price. Those who believe the insatiable growth will go on for years think the stock is a bargain, while those who are a bit more skeptical about its ability to continually raise prices, avoid the stock despite its cheap-looking valuation -- and that's the camp I fall into.

With Bitcoin up 40% since July, ETF inflows have now turned positive for the year.

Amid macroeconomic uncertainty and geopolitical tension, the "digital gold" investment thesis has returned.

With the dollar-based global economic system under pressure, some investors would rather hold Bitcoin than dollars.

10 stocks we like better than Bitcoin ›

Since July, when it briefly dipped below $60,000, Bitcoin(CRYPTO: BTC) is up a resounding 40%. That's particularly impressive, given the spate of negative news that has hit the crypto market recently, including Congress' failure to advance the Clarity Act.

So why, exactly, is the price of Bitcoin soaring? These four factors offer the best explanation.

Missed Nvidia in 2009? This Rare Signal Is Flashing Again. In 2009, a "Double Down" signal flashed for a little-known chipmaker called Nvidia. For the first time in years, that same "Total Conviction" signal is flashing for a company 1/100th the size of Nvidia. Continue »

Bitcoin ETF inflows

The easy answer is "ETF inflows." Money is once again flowing into Bitcoin ETFs at a prodigious rate, and that is helping to push up the price of Bitcoin. The funds actually buy and hold coins, so there's real substance in this argument.

The reversal since July has been particularly striking. In mid-July, Bitcoin ETFs were facing net outflows of $5.8 billion for the year. Two months later, that has flipped to a net inflow of $800 million.

But I'm not entirely satisfied with this explanation, because the cause-and-effect order is unclear. Is the price of Bitcoin going up because ETF inflows are increasing? Or are ETF inflows increasing because the price of Bitcoin is going up?

Bitcoin as digital gold

Another possible explanation is the return of the "digital gold" investment thesis. Some investors view Bitcoin as a potential hedge against inflation and geopolitical instability, just like physical gold.

As a result, the correlation between Bitcoin and gold recently hit a six-year high. At a time of macroeconomic uncertainty and geopolitical tension, it makes sense that investors are looking for safe-haven assets. That could be persuading investors to embrace Bitcoin.

But, again, this explanation is not entirely satisfying. For much of the year, Bitcoin was behaving like a high-beta tech stock. How is it possible that it can behave like a risky asset for half of the year, and like gold for the other half of the year?

Bond market feedback loop

Finally, another possible explanation involves a potential link between recent buybacks of long-term U.S. Treasury debt and the price of Bitcoin. This suggests a feedback loop between the bond market and the crypto market.

Replacing longer-term Treasury debt with shorter-term, lower-cost debt will lower interest rates and reduce the cost of borrowing for the U.S. government. These lower interest rates should also make risky assets such as Bitcoin more appealing, especially to investors seeking higher returns.

But didn't the Federal Reserve just announce plans to hike interest rates? Aren't bond yields rising? So again, this explanation by itself doesn't look complete.

Bitcoin as the future of money

Based on what's happening in the Middle East right now, the dollar-based global economic system appears to be coming apart at the seams. As a result, hedge fund managers continue to talk about a potential replacement of the dollar as the world's reserve currency.

And that is where Bitcoin enters the conversation. Ultimately, Bitcoin is not just a digital currency. It is also a financial innovation powered by blockchain technology.

As such, Bitcoin could be the future of money, which helps explain why it continues to soar in value, even without an obvious catalyst.

NASCAR star Dale Earnhardt Jr. has revealed his final conversation with Kyle Busch the day before the racing pro's unexpected death.

Earnhardt Jr. remembered his fellow driver, who died at 41on May 21, on the latest episode of his podcast,Dale Jr. Download, recalling their last text exchange and Busch's impact on him and the industry.

"I was texting with him the day before he passed away about getting together this Thursday to bring his seat for his late model over to my shop," Earnhardt Jr. began, explaining that they had agreed that Busch would drive the vehicle in the CARS Tour and that they were deciding which number they would run in the race, which spotlights late-model cars.

"He's texting me, and he's like, 'What scheme we going to run?' And I was like, 'You can run any scheme you want,'" Earnhardt Jr. said. "I was like, 'What number do you want to run?' He goes … he said it, literally, 'The Dale Jr. 8.' I was like, 'You got it.'" Earnhardt Jr. had driven the car from 1999 until 2007, making Busch's choice extra personal for him.

Busch responded to Earnhardt Jr.'s sign-off with the head-exploding emoji, Earnhardt Jr. said, referring to how race fans would react to seeing behind the wheel of the vehicle.

Earnhardt Jr. became emotional while discussing Busch's sudden death, saying he has a "hard time believing" that his friend and colleague is gone.

"What I've enjoyed, I guess, is learning more about Kyle the person," Earnhardt Jr. said, referring to recent conversations he has had with fellow drivers about Busch.

"We know who he is on the racetrack. We know how he is on the racetrack and in the media and so forth — what he was like at the track with the suit on and in that environment," he said. "I knew him on a personal level. But hearing how he interacted and how he was to others, the joke they may have shared in a text … I've really enjoyed learning who he was away from the track and how he interacted and engaged, or treated or talked to other people, and it's been good."
