Pittsburgh Pirates Fan in Critical Condition After Fall Identified as Ex-Standout Football Player
The Pittsburgh Pirates fan who fell over the top of a 21-foot outfield wall at PNC Park has been identified as a former standout football player, as he remains in critical condition after Wednesday's incident. The man has been identified as Kavan Markwood, according to reports from Pittsburgh newspaper TribLive, ESPN and The Athletic, on Thursday, May 1. Markwood was a 2022 South Allegheny High School graduate and was named the football team's MVP in his senior year, according to The Athletic.
